Did someone say FREE?

Oh, I think I might have.

We at SeaSocks Central have very good friends in the San Francisco Bay area. The kind owner of Marin Fiber Arts has invited each and everyone of us to come for a visit while we are in town. In order to make this all possible, Warren is kindly sponsoring a bus for us to come to his shop. In addition, he is hosting a trunk show for Nature's Palette Yarns.

UPDATE: I got this awesome call from Warren, the owner of Marin Fiber Arts, it seems that in addition to Nature's Palette having a trunk show at his shop on May 1st. (Aunty Nin, who keeps me in line with dates -- did I get this one right?:)) Kirsten Muench, owner of Muench Yarns, is personally doing a trunk show TOO. Ok, two trunk shows, a yarn store full of yarn, and a bus -- does it get any better than this?

Now, I'm in the processing of reserving the bus and I need to get an idea of how many of you may be interested. This would be a tour from about 9am to 3pm, which would preclude doing the tours of San Francisco. However, I promise to be most entertaining on the bus (to the point you'll feel like you've "been there" -- I kid. But you'll let me practice my next profession of being a tour guide in the process). I know some are traveling with families and there is no requirement to come on this yarn crawl excursion. Like I said, I just need an idea of how large a bus to contract for.

Shore Excursion Updates

I know you are all shocked that this is a multi-update week, but let me tell you that I've got more coming. I'm also working on a big announcement about the San Francisco stop which I hope to get out this week. However, I do have a few little updates about the Victoria and the Vancouver tours.

  • I should note that I have just e-mailed every confirmation I have for all the excursions currently booked. If you are watching this space and thinking, did she get my tour request and you don't see an e-mail from me by tonight, please e-mail me or call and let me know.
  • In checking on the numbers, we have officially filled the Tea Tour! Yes, in Victoria the only tour left is the Garden tour and it is currently half full. I will try to get some more space opened up, but that is a little of a long shot. If you are HORRIBLY disappointed, please let me know and I'll see what I can do.
  • HOTEL in LA NEWS: In seconds after hitting "post" I got the call. The Doubletree hotel in San Pedro is offering us for the night of 4/28/07, a $129 rate to include shuttle to the pier in the morning and for those of you with a car 7 days of FREE parking. This will allow the LA folks to park until they fly home from Vancouver or Seattle. While the hotel does not have a shuttle from the airport, I was told that Super Shuttle is $15 per person to the hotel. If you want to book this deal, call or e-mail me. Now, I need 8 rooms to hold this deal, which I frankly don't think is going to be problem -- so, I'm forced to ask the important question, dinner?
Looking forward to more updates. Stay tuned, please.

In the way of an update

I know it has been a bit and frankly I don't have much in the way of news -- other than I've been working really hard. Here's what I've got right this second.
  1. Shore Excursion confirmations are going out in the mail tomorrow.
  2. Cruise Confirmations for my Canada folks are going back out again tomorrow -- long story, but let's leave it as I'm US Postal Challenged -- and I've ordered UPS international stuff for your documents!!
  3. We have MORE sponsors. Our friends at Blue Moon Fiber Arts are pitching in some prizes -- let me just note that I got the sweetest note from them and sorrow that they can't join us. In addition, yesterday, I heard from one of our newest additions, the heart behind Stitches from the Heart that she will be donating some items to us to help raise awareness of her charity. I'm going to say, go to this site and read some -- I still have a few tears.
  4. And finally, I'm waiting on some information from a hotel in LA that does Park and Cruise (for you LA folks) and shuttles to the pier. I'm working with them on a deal for the night before the cruise, this way if you come in the night before you can get to the ship EARLY! Details will follow -- but if you shoot me an e-mail or a comment letting me know if you are interested or have made the flights to do this -- it will help me talk to the manager to let him know how many to plan for. (LA folks, this would completely help with any traffic concerns you would have on a SUNDAY morning -- not that I'm saying LA has traffic ;) [Thanks to AuntyNin for pointing out I'm not reading a calendar well. I was so excited over finding a hotel close with a manager to help me -- I forgot it was Sunday.]

So, things progress here in SeaSocks Central. In case you were wondering we have NINE cabins left. That's it. As of right now, I don't have any more. If they sell out, I may be able to get a few more from Royal Caribbean, but we may be close to selling through the cabins. In case you were counting, this is DOUBLE my original expectations!! You guys are amazing.
